Disclaimer: This post was sponsored by The Fitness Games through my partnership with Fit Approach as a Sweat Pink Ambassador. I was not compensated monetarily, but was provided the Platinum Version of the application for review. As always, all opinions are my own.

Through my affiliation with Sweat Pink and Fit Approach, I got the opportunity to test out a new fitness app called The Fitness Games (I was provided with the Platinum version of the app, which has a few more bells and whistles than the free version).  I’m always into trying apps like these out, so this opportunity stood out to me!
The Fitness Games combines “fitness, gaming and social media”.
After downloading the app, enter in your information to sign in. The first screen after that will look like this:

The four squares at the top, Strength, Cardiovascular, Full Body, and Cross Training, are the areas of fitness in which you can challenge other TFG participants to a work out.  You can challenge your own friends or other folks you don’t know.  You can also challenge yourself!
Each category has a long list of different types of challenges (there are over 50 in the app).
For example, here are the options under “strength” and “cardio”:

If you want to just go for a run, you’d go under the “Cardio” option and then select “Running”. It can track you by time or by distance.
You can also create your own workout (which I did under “cross training”, which is helpful for me when I do my CrossFit workouts. You can see here that I created my own “mile run and power snatches” workout:

There are also the pre-programmed challenges that you can see on that same screen.  The Bodyweight Madness – Level 2: Intermediate is the following:

Pretty cool, right!

After you complete the challenge, you’ll be given a score.  The more points you get, the more workouts you can unlock (even though there are already a ton in there).  It’s motivation to keep using the app for challenges, which is great because it’ll keep you moving!
In summary, I think The Fitness Games App is a good way to stay motivated and stay active.  I think that for what I like to do, CrossFit and lifting, it’s difficult, considering most of my workouts are already planned, so if I want to use the app, I have to always create new challenges and record them that way (which sometimes is hard to remember to do when gearing up for a WOD), but I think for cardio workouts, it’s a really good way to stay on track, especially if you have friends using the app that you can challenge.  It is definitely work checking out, especially if you are like me and love new apps like these!
If you are interested in more information you can check out The Fitness Games website, and download the app for iOS or Android.
